A Star of the North mating makes Blood-Horse Now's "Buzzworthy" List at OBS

After working an eighth mile in 10.1 at the OBS Select Two Year-Olds In Training Sale [OBS February Preview], Hip 93, an Indian Charlie colt produced from the Crafty Prospector mare Rising Tide was highlighted in this sale preview from the Blood-Horse. This colt was purchased for $360,000 by Buzz Chace as agent for West Point Thoroughbreds and John Williams. Star of the North Bloodstock assisted Bonnie Baskin of the Sy-Bon Stable with the matings planning that helped produce this promising colt.

A sales topper for Hill 'n Dale Freshman Stallion at Keeneland November

This advertisement for the Hill 'n' Dale stallion Grand Reward featured the top-selling weanling filly from the Keeneland November 2007 sale. Star of the North Bloodstock assisted owner-breeder Camelia Casby with the purchase of dam Zambezi Belle and with the subsequent matings planning that helped produce this filly, who was consigned by Bluewater Sales and was purchased by Thor-Bred Stables LLC. This ad appeared in the December 1, 2007 edition of the Blood-Horse and the January 5, 2008 edition of the Thoroughbred Times.

Star of the North featured in Star Tribune article on horse ownership

Veteran Star Tribune sports reporter Rachel Blount profiled a number of new owners and their experiences in campaigning horses at Canterbury Park, including Balo Sukharan, whose family's Lookinforthesecret won the Minnesota HBPA Sprint Stakes in 2007. Balo had contacted Star of the North when looking for a horse to purchase and as a result of that contact was introduced to trainer Jamie Ness, who claimed the multiple stakes winner for his owners at Tampa Bay Downs.
