(Above) Gophers Football Coach Tim Brewster, Canterbury Park Chairman Curtis Sampson, Minnesota HBPA President Tom Metzen and Canterbury Park President and General Manager Randy Sampson were on hand in the winner's circle to greet 2007 Minnesota Derby winner Palm Reader following his memorable victory. Camelia Casby bred Palm Reader (Miswaki - Dactylogram by Dactylographer) from one of the first mares she ever owned. Palm Reader is trained by Gary Scherer and he was ridden to victory by Juan Rivera.

(Above) Cam Casby's 2-year old filly Laurentide Ice (Intidab - La Muttering by Muttering) gave her owner-breeder a season to remember when winning by daylight in her first career outing at Saratoga and never finishing off the board in five subsequent tries against the best New York-bred fillies in training. Laurentide Ice placed or won in four stakes events in the 2006 racing season, including appearances in the Joseph A. Gimma, the Maid of the Mist and the East View Stakes. She returned this year to finish third in the New York Oaks and also captured the Cupecoy's Joy Division of the New York Stallions Stakes at Belmont Park. Laurentide Ice is pictured here after winning a division of the New York Stallion Series in 2006. She is trained by Mark Hennig and was ridden to victory by Cornelio Velasquez.
